EC fines JP and MDA

Elections Commission (EC) has fined Jumhooree Party (JP) for a sixth time, and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) for the first time for violating the regulation on submitting membership forms.

The commission said today that JP has been fined 10,000 for submitting several membership forms with the same fingerprint.

JP has been fined twice already this month.

MDA has also been fined, for the first time, an amount of MVR 5,000 for submitting several membership forms with the same fingerprint.
