Elections Commission has notified candidates of the Parliamentary Election held on 22 March to submit a detailed report on funds used for campaigning for the election.
Elections Commission said in its announcement in this regard today that these reports must be submitted before 4:00 p.m. on 22 April.
Article 73 of the Elections (General) Act states that candidates must submit a report detailing how funds were obtained, from whom they were obtained, how much was obtained; as well as how the funds were spent to gain support. Candidates are also required to present a bank statement.
This report must be submitted to Elections Commission within 30 days of every election.
