Two more arrested over Thinadhoo murder

Two additional individuals have been arrested for the murder of Ali Rasheed, Diamond Villa, Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo.

Police brought a 33-year-old man under custody around 4:00 p.m. on Monday and a 39-year-old man was arrested around 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, said the Police Media Official.

The two arrests bring the number of people detained over the murder to 6 suspects. The first group of suspects, a 41-year-old local woman, a 35-year-old local man, and a 24-year-old Bangladeshi man, were arrested on Friday night. A fourth suspect, a 31-year-old local man, was arrested on Saturday.

Ali Rasheed was found dead on Friday, lying inside a storeroom at his house with several injury marks on his body. Divorced and with no children, the elderly man lived alone in his own home, apart for a group of expatriate workers who live on lease on the premises.
