Tholal appointed PPM's Secretary General

Ahmed Tholal has been appointed Secretary General of the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

Tholal, who chaired the party’s election committee prior to his appointment, was assigned to the Secretary General post unanimously at a council meeting on Monday night, said PPM’s Deputy Leader, Fonadhoo MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla today.

The post was left vacant when former Secretary General Zaha Waheed was appointed Minister of State for Fisheries and Agriculture. Mohamed Zuhair handled the Secretary General’s responsibilities during the vacancy.
