Preliminary results to be announced at 10:00 p.m.

Elections Commission has said that efforts are ongoing to announce the preliminary results of the Parliamentary Election tonight at 10:00 p.m.

Media Official of Elections Commission Aishath Shifana said that preparations are under way to announce the results tonight.

Results announced by media show that the government coalition has won majority in the parliament.

Most number of seats was won by Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), second most by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), third most by Jumhooree Party (JP), and fourth most by Maldives Development Alliance (MDA). Also, Adhaalath Party won one seat and independent candidates five seats.
