Police have said that their investigation against former President of Elections Commission Fuad Thaufeeg has revealed that ‘inappropriate activities’ had taken place.
Police said on their website that the allegations against Fuad, in relation to a case filed by a private individual, are being further investigated.
Police did not specify the ‘inappropriate activities’.
Fuad is being investigated regarding a leaked audio of a phone conversation between him and former President Mohamed Nasheed about the Parliamentary Election.
When summoned by police for questioning, Fuad exercised his right to silence guaranteed to every citizen in the Constitution.
Police have also summoned and questioned Elections Commission Members Ali Mohamed Manik and Mohamed Faroog.
