ACC orders companies not to amend contracts with Tata

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday ordered all relevant companies to refrain from making changes to Veshifahi social housing contracts with Indian multinational conglomerate Tata Group.

ACC president Hassan Latheef said the order is related to an investigation currently being carried out by the commission.

“We have ordered not to make amendments to agreements until we have concluded our investigation” Hassan Latheef said.

The government commissioner Tata to construct social housing flats in four different grounds in the capital Male’ in 2010. President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, who came to office in November last year, has asked to expedite the construction of the flats.
