Woman injured in Addu road accident

A woman was injured in an accident in Addu City last night when a jeep, driven by an intoxicated man, crashed into a motorcycle.

The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Thaqwa Mosque in Hithadhoo's main road. The injured woman has been identified as Hawwa Ahmed of Sabdhelige, Seenu Hithadhoo.

Police said that Hawwa Ahmed, who was driving the motorcycle, suffered severe injuries including a broken leg and damages to her face and head.

Police have arrested the individual who was driving the jeep. However, police have neither revealed the man's details, nor confirmed reports that he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Police Media Official said the jeep was moving towards Koatey on the wrong side of the road when it lost control and crashed into a car and then a motorcycle that were coming from the opposite direction.
