Project launched to construct 100 houses in Vilufushi

A project has been launched today to construct 100 housing units in Thaa Vilufushi for people who were displaced in the tsunami.

Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr Mohamed Muizzu said that all citizens of Vilufushi are welcome to apply for these houses, which have a payment period of 15 years and monthly rent of MVR 2,500.

“The purpose of this project is to provide housing for people of Vilufushi who were displaced in the tsunami. This project will not fully solve the problem, but will solve the problem to some extent. 100 houses will be built under the first phase,” he said.

Noomadi Resorts Private Limited has been commissioned to carry out his project.

Dr Muizzu said that the project will commence within the next two weeks, and that it will completed in 12 months.
