A Maldivian aircraft en route to Male’ has landed at Seenu Gan Airport within ten minutes of take-off following a technical problem.
Head of Administration of Island Aviation Ali Nashath told Sun Online that the aircraft faced a problem with its indicator light.
“It wasn’t anything serious. It was a small problem with the aircraft’s indicator light. Our policy is that we don’t take risks when faced with small problems. So the aircraft landed back in Gan,” he said.
Nashath said that the flight landed at Gan at around 4:30 p.m., and the aircraft was near Fuvahmulah when the problem was discovered.
“Efforts are under way to fix the problem. No one was injured,” he assured.
He said that another Maldivian aircraft is on its way to Gan to transport the 50 passengers to Male’.
