Parliamentary candidates

Maldives Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has kicked off the ‘Candidates’ Debates 2014’.

MBC said that all parliamentary candidates have been invited to participate in the debates.

The candidates’ debates will be broadcast live on TVM at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. everyday excluding Friday.

Lots were drawn to determine the order of constituencies, and the first debate was for Hoarafushi, which was attended by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) candidate Ahmed Saleem alone. Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) candidate Mohamed Ismail was absent.
