President nominates Dr Azeema as new MMA Governor

President Yameen Abdul Gayoom has nominated Dr Azeema Adam as the new Governor of Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), and sent her name to the parliament for approval.

Dr Azeema joined MMA in May 1991, and presently acts as Assistant Governor and Chief Economist, Monetary Policy, Research and Statistics at MMA.

She holds a PhD in Economics a Master’s Degree in International Development and Finance.
