Major drug dealer released

Hassan Yoosuf, a drug convict who had been sentenced to life imprisonment, has been released after he completed the Drug Court’s Rehabilitation Program.

Yoosuf was arrested two years ago on suspicion of large scale drug dealing in Laamu Atoll, and was convicted in 2011 of possession and dealing of drugs.

The Drug Act states that persons who complete the Rehabilitation Program as instructed by the Drug Court must be released.
