Transport Authority chairman dismissed

Abdul Rasheed Nafiz, chairman of the Transport Authority of Maldives was dismissed from the post yesterday.

A government official confirmed the dismissal, but did not provide details. Sources say Nafiz did not sign in at the Authority today.

Abdul Rasheed Nafiz was the spokesperson for former president Dr Mohamed Waheed during the presidential campaign. President Waheed promoted Nafiz to the level of State Minister last September.
