Will take about two days to announce LCE preliminary results, says EC

Elections Commission has said today that it will take another “two days or so” to announce the preliminary results of the Local Council Election, held on Saturday.

Speaking to Sun today, Director General of Elections Commission Ahmed Shakeel said: “It is difficult to say a specific date as to when the preliminary results will be announced. It will take about two days or so. We are trying to announce the preliminary results within the week.”

“If we announce the results without checking on our part, we may have to face irreparable issues,” Shakeel said.

Saturday’s Local Council Election saw 2463 candidates compete for 1100 seats.
