Lack of proper Penal Code is a challenge for criminal justice system: Chief Justice

Chief Justice Ahmed Faiz Hussain has said that the lack of a proper, modern Penal Code is a challenge for the criminal justice system in the Maldives.

The Chief Justice made this remark while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a seminar for Maldivian judges, by the Commonwealth Magistrates’ and Judges’ Association (CMJA).

The purpose of this seminar is to share experiences and challenges faced by judges. It is attended by experienced judges from several Commonwealth countries.
