Official dismissed over corruption allegations

Abdul Jaleel Ismail has been dismissed as Assistant Director of Thaa Hirilandhoo Council over corruption allegations.

President of Hirilandhoo Council Ali Faiz said that Abdul Jaleel has been accused of committing an act of corruption in providing employment to a labourer, and that his dismissal notification has been sent by the Civil Service Commission.

He said that Abdul Jaleel has now notified of his dismissal by the Council.

Faiz said that officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) visited the island about one month ago to obtain documents and investigate this case.
