Individual arrested over Tuesday night

An individual has been arrested over a stabbing in Male’ last night that resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man.

Police said the arrested individual is 26 years of age. Additional information was not provided.

One of last night’s stabbing victims, Hussain Waheed, Ma. Aisha, died while being treated in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). He was stabbed in the chest.

The other stab victim, an 18-year-old boy was treated in IGMH for wounds sustained to his left rear torso. His condition was not reported serious.

The two young men were stabbed during a fight near Coffee Corner in Buruzu Magu, Male' around 10:30 p.m, Tuesday night.
