Time extended for local council candidates to show representatives

Elections Commission has extended the period for local council candidates to submit names of their designated representatives for the local council election.

The period expired today and was extended to Thursday, 26 December. Local council election is scheduled for 18 January where candidates will compete for 1118 seats in island, atoll and city councils across the country.

Elections Commission has decided to issue 1 pass to each candidate for candidates or their representative to enter and observe the ballot stations.
