President to visit India early next month

The President’s Office has announced that President Yameen Abdul Gayoom will visit India early next month.

Speaking at a press conference at the President’s Office today, Spokesperson at the President’s Office Ibrahim Muaz Ali said that the President will also visit Sri Lanka later in January 2014.

He announced that following the visit to Sri Lanka, the President will visit some northern and southern atolls in the Maldives.

Muaz said that the President will also visit Japan early next year, which will be the first official visit by a Maldivian President on the invitation of the Japanese government.

The President will meet senior government officials and businessmen in India, said Muaz.
