MVR 150,000 confiscated from major drug dealer

Police have revealed that nearly MVR 150,000 was confiscated from a major drug dealer arrested on Monday night.

The apartment of the 30-year-old individual, located in Ma. Finifenjanbuge, was inspected following an operation by Police Intelligence and Police Drug Enforcement Department on Monday night.

Police said the 241 grams of drugs were discovered from the scene, along with MVR 142,100, another 630 Indian Rupees, 2020 Lankan Rupees, 7 Malaysian Ringgit, 60 Thai Bhat, and 4 U.S. Dollars.

Police said the suspect was also arrested for importing and trafficking of drugs on Monday night at the Majeedhee Magu - Chaandhanee Magu intersection. Two others were also arrested from the scene for obstructing police duties.

In addition to the money and drugs, Police have also confiscated the suspect’s ledger detailing financial transactions.
