Qatar Airways launches online visa processing to Qatar

Qatar Airways has introduced a new online system for applying for tourist visas to Qatar.

The system processes one-month single-entry tourist visas that must be used within 60 days from the date of issue.

It takes approximately 10 days to process and costs $55 per person. The option to fast track the application is available at a cost of $120 per person and takes approximately 7 days.

To have the visa processed by the online system, applicants must have a confirmed up-and-down ticket to Doha on a Qatar Airways flight. The passenger must also have a hotel booking through the airline’s inbound holiday division Discover Qatar.

Qatar Airways states that the validity of the visa and the visa period cannot be extended and that it will be issued for the duration of the hotel stay. Also, the person’s stay in Qatar must not exceed 30 days and must be for tourism purposes alone. The visa application fees are non-refundable.

“The new system eases the process of applying for a tourist visa to Qatar for eligible passengers. It also provides passengers with the convenience of tracking their visa application status online,” said a Qatar Airways spokesperson.
