Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has begun a development program for youth named “A weekend with MNDF.”
The program is underway in the military training island of Girifushi.
The program is part of the objectives MNDF seeks to achieve within the first 100 days of the new administration, through which the government seeks to streamline its youth policy. The objectives were announced by Defence Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim on 25 November.
MNDF said that a number of activities have been planned for the 48 government and 5 individual participants that are taking part in the program, which is being held from 12 to 14 December.
According to MNDF, the participants will be taught on the disciplines of Islam, nationalism, leadership and self development.
This is the first program of its kind undertaken by MNDF.
