Finance Minister signs for PPM

Minister of Finance and Treasury Abdulla Jihad has signed for the governing Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

Jihad told Sun today that he joined PPM over a request by former president and PPM leader Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. He also said that the Finance Minister slot in cabinet also belongs to PPM.

“My decision was based on President Maumoon’s request. I have always been of PPM’s ideologies and philosophies,” the Finance Minister said.

Former president Maumoon published a tweet last night thanking and welcoming Minister Jihad to PPM. He said that Jihad will be a great asset to the party.
