Revision increases budget by MVR 1.1 billion

The revised 2014 state budget has increased to MVR 17.5 billion.

This is an increase of MVR 1.1 billion from the former administration’s proposed budget of MVR 16.4 billion.

Soon after taking office, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom had said that the revised 2014 budget will be reduced by MVR 1 billion, but the budget received by parliament yesterday had increased by MVR 1.1 billion, the largest state budget proposed thus far.
