Cyclone Madi will not affect Maldives: MET Office

The Maldives Meteorological Service has said that Cyclone Madi, formed over southwest Bay of Bengal, will not affect the Maldives.

Director General of the Maldives Meteorological Centre Ali Shareef told Sun Online today that Cyclone Madi is presently moving away from the Maldives, and that it will therefore not affect the Maldives.

MET Office has said that the storms experienced in the southern atolls will continue over the next two or three days.

They also urged people traveling by sea to be cautious of the weather, and to obtain the latest weather information prior to departure.
