New Council created for Kalaidhoo

President Abdulla Yameen has created a new council for Laamu Kalaidhoo.

The President’s Office said that following the establishment of this council under the Decentralisation Act, the Local Council List has been revised.

The President also declared Laamu Kalaidhoo a separate island yesterday.

With this change, the number of local island councils is 190. The number of atoll councils is 19.
