President appoints State Minister to head DPRS

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Minister of State for Home Affairs Hussain Maniku Dhon Maniku as Head of the Department of Penitentiary and Rehabilitation Services (DPRS).

The position was previously held by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rtd) Mohamed Fayaz, who has been nominated as the High Commissioner of Maldives to Malaysia.

Hussain Maniku Dhon Maniku was a member of Special Majlis and also served as MP for Thaa Atoll in Parliament. He boasts many years of service to the government, with the majority of his experience in the Ministry of Atolls.
