Ahmed Saudhee appointed Deputy Police Commissioner

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Ahmed Saudhee as Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Article 54 (a) of the Police Act states that the Deputy Commissioner of Police shall assist the Commissioner of Police in planning and managing the routine affairs of the police, while Article 54 (b) states that the Deputy Commissioner of Police shall be appointed by the President.

Saudhee, who held the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police until now, has served Maldives Police Service for 21 years and 7 months.
