Dhaandhoo health center extracts 25 bullets of drugs from woman

Gaafu Alif Dhaandhoo health center has extracted 25 bullets of drugs from a 33-year-old woman trying to smuggle the drugs onto the island, hidden inside her privates.

Police said the woman was arrested today soon after she arrived from another island in Gaafu Alif atoll. The woman was taken to the island’s health center and the drugs extracted.

The court has allowed an indefinite detention period until the investigation is concluded, but being the mother of a one-month old infant, the police have transferred the woman to house arrest. Police said the woman had a records of drugs, robber, mugging and sexual offences.

A source from Dhaandhoo said that the woman was also arrested last month after she left her infant child in the hospital and to conduct a series of robberies. Island locals also accuse her of engaging in prostitution by accosting elderly men.
