Issues between Criminal Court and Civil Court will be investigated: Chief Justice

Chief Justice Ahmed Faiz Hussain has said that the incidents that transpired between the Criminal Court and Civil Court will be investigated.

This remark follows the transfer of a counter located on the ground floor of the Civil Court to the Criminal Court overnight without the permission of the Civil Court, and the consequent decision by the Civil Court judges to indefinitely suspend accepting cases.

Director of Media Unit at the Department of Judicial Administration Ahmed Majid told Sun Online that action will be taken as required regarding this issue.

Majid said that the Chief Justice had said that the problem of lack of space is the biggest challenge faced by the courts in Male’ today.

Earlier, the Civil Court said that a large number people seeking Criminal Court related services had crowded around the Justice Building counter today, causing the atmosphere unsuitable to cater to Civil Court cases.

Criminal Court’s Media Official Ahmed Mohamed Manik denied the allegations and said the said counter has been duly released to the Criminal Court.
