Home Minister Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed’s car has been damaged after it collided with a motorcycle. Two people suffered injuries of various degrees in this accident.

The accident took place on Ameenee Magu at around 4.15pm today. A witness told Sun that the ‘G5726’ car was trying to turn north near Cine Male’ flats when it was hit by a motorcycle which tried to overtake it. They said that the driver was alone in the car, and two youngsters were riding the motorcycle.

“The kids were injured to some extent,” a witness said.

The Police said that they have received information regarding Home Minister Dr Jameel’s car being hit by a motorcycle, and that the matter is currently under investigation.

Sun’s team observed when they arrived at the scene that the car’s buffer was almost completely destroyed. The front cover of the motorcycle was also destroyed and blood was noticed on the ground.

IGMH Media Coordinator Zeenath Ali Habeeb said that the two people have been released after treatment, and that they had not suffered any serious injury.

Sticky rice was thrown at Dr Jameel’s car some years ago when he was Justice Minister.
