The deputy speaker of the parliament Hon. Ahmed Nazim has been appointed as the leader of the united opposition’s parliamentary group formed by Z-DRP, PA, JP, QP, and the independent members.
Nazim was appointed as the leader in the meeting held in Nasandhura Palace hotel last night. Riyaz Rasheed of Qaumee Party and Ahmed Saleem of Labour Party also participated in the meeting.
Two deputy members were also appointed in the last night’s meeting. The appointed deputy leaders are Riyaz Rasheed and Ilham Ahmed. The seven whips are, Abdul Azeez Jamal Abu Bakr of PA, independent member Ibrahim Riza, Ali Arif of Z-DRP, Mohamed Rafeeq Hassan of Z-DRP, Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik of Z-DRP, Abdul Muhsin Hameed of Z-DRP.
Ahmed Mahloof of South Galolhu constituency of the capital city has been appointed as the spokesperson. Moosa Zameer and Yousuf Naeem have been appointed as the foreign relation focal points. Hon. Hamdhoon Hameed was appointed as the Government-watch.
