Man who fell from four storey building on Saturday, dies

The man who fell from a four storey building in Henveyru on Saturday has died while being treated for serious injuries in ADK hospital early this morning.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Ahmed Ahujad of H. Morning Sun.

ADK’s General Manager Ahmed Af’al said Ahujad died while being treated in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) early this morning. He did not provide details of the victim’s injuries.

Police said the Ahujad fell from the fourth floor of a house named H. Alikurige and that it is assumed he fell while trying to rob the house.

Ahujad fell and landed in the a narrow alleyway adjacent to H. Alikurige. An outdoor unit of an air conditioner, which is assumed to have fallen when he hit the unit on his way down, was also found near him in the narrow alleyway.

In a separate incident on Friday, a 29-year-old individual, who went into an apartment in Galolhu to steal fell from the fifth storey of the building, also died while being treated for serious head injuries at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
