President urges schools to refrain from politicizing their activities

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has urged principles, supervisors and teachers of schools to refrain from politicizing the education system.

Addressing the people of Sh. Narudhoo today, the President said that school managements should work towards encouraging Islamic values, love for the nation, and friendship and cooperation among students. He said the performance of educators will be closely monitored by the government.

“The unacceptable behavior which children are exposed to today is of concern. They should not experience such behavior in the school premises,” the President said. President Waheed worked in the education sector for several years before he became a political figure.

He urged people to stay away from getting caught up in politics and work together towards a common goal.
