President visits Hulhumale

President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has visited the housing projects in Hulhumale’ and obtained information regarding these projects today.

The President was received in Hulhumale’ by senior officials of Hulhumale’ Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

President Waheed first visited the site of the 1000 housing units being constructed by the Chinese National Machinery and Equipment Import and Export Corporation (CMEC), followed by the units being constructed by Pruksa-HDC Housing Private Limited.

He also visited the row houses constructed by HDC and obtained information on these units.

Upon his return from Hulhumale’, President Waheed was met by protesters who demonstrated against his government in Male’. The protest did not lead to any unrest.

This is President Waheed’s first visit to Hulhumale’ since he took office.
