The President’s Office has said that the main purpose of establishing Maldives Hajj Corporation is to facilitate Hajj pilgrimage for the citizens of the Maldives, a hundred percent Muslim country, and to ensure that the payments made in this regard are received and handled with honesty.
Established on 17 March this year, Maldives Hajj Corp Limited was established as a government company with hundred percent government shares.
President’s Office said earlier that the establishment of Maldives Hajj Corporation would not obstruct private companies, permitted by the Islamic Ministry, from organizing the Hajj pilgrimage.
