Elections Commission has today opened for re-registrations for the first round of the fresh election to he held on 9 November and the second round, if necessary on 16 November.
Re-registration is required for voters who wish to vote from locations other than their permanent residences.
Elections Commission said that as a default, voters will be registered in the location they were last registered for the cancelled election of 19 October. Voters can register for the first round and second round with the same form, the commission said, and a new period of re-registration will not be allowed for the second round.
The commission and designated offices will accept re-registration forms from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. today (Thursday) and 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday.
Elections Commission has also called for parties interested in monitoring and observing the election to submit applications. Those who are already registered to monitor will not have to obtain new permits, however, all observer parties and monitoring groups registered previously have been asked to forward a list of observers and monitors representing their organizations.
Those who wish to observe and monitor have been invited to submit applications before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, 26 October.
