Individual arrested over Raajje TV arson attack

Maldives Police Service has arrested an individual suspected of being involved in the arson attack on local television station, Raajje TV.

Sun has received confirmation of the arrest. Details of the individual could not be obtained.

Raajje TV was set on fire around dawn on Monday by a group of six wearing hoods and masks. The station resumed their broadcast after a 10-hour disruption, at 12:40 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Police condemned the attack, describing it as an uncivilized act of violence, assured the public that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and appealed for public support in finding the individuals.
