Deputy Minister of Transport Ibrahim Nazim dismissed

Deputy Minister of Transport Ibrahim Nazim has been dismissed from his post.

An official of the President’s Office told Sun Online that Nazim was informed of his dismissal yesterday.

He said that Nazim was dismissed by the president as per Article 115 (f) of the Constitution, which states that it is part of the powers and responsibilities of the president to appoint, dismiss and accept the resignation of members of the cabinet, and officials necessary for the proper functioning of the duties of his office.

Sun has come to know that Nazim has been absent from work now for some time.

Nazim previously held the post of president of Youth Wing of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM). He resigned from this post, and has been seen recently at rallies of Jumhooree Party (JP).
