PPM campaign post severely vandalized

A Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) campaign post in Gaafu Hasee in Male’ has been severely vandalized.

Owner of the property Mohamed Hassaan told Sun that the post, which is being used in the presidential campaign, was attacked early Saturday morning around dawn.

The post was splattered with paint, windows and fans broken, along with its TV and electricity board.

Acts of vandalism were seen in several parts of the capital since the Supreme Court’s order to postpone the second round of presidential elections, with groups attempting to vandalize local television station DhiTV and offices of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and Dhiraagu, and two vans being torched while parked inside Alimas Carnival, all on Friday night.
