Three policemen assaulted in Rasdhoo

Three policemen overseeing security of a Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) rally in Alif Alif Rasdhoo were assaulted on Wednesday night.

Police media official confirmed the incident and said that the assaults took place near the Rasdhoo ports area. All three officers received injuries, the official said.

A source from Rasdhoo said that the assaults took place around 9:00 p.m. during a MDP rally against some Supreme Court judges. He said that 6 people suspected of instigating the assault have been arrested under a court warrant.
