Arsenal to play Man City in Beijing's Bird's Nest

LONDON (AP) — Arsenal will play Manchester City on the day of the London Olympics opening ceremony — in the main 2008 Beijing Games stadium.

The Premier League rivals' friendly match in the Bird's Nest will kick off on July 27 at 8 p.m., which will be lunchtime in England.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis says it is "fitting that two English clubs are playing each other on the opening day of the London 2012 Olympics, in the stadium which hosted Beijing 2008 Olympic Games."

The opening ceremony in the London Olympic Stadium will get under way from 20:12 local time.
