Nasheed's statement that I will help him win the election was intended to mislead the public: Gasim

Jumhoory Party's presidential candidate Gasim Ibrahim has said the former president and Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) presidential candidate Mohamed Nasheed’s recent statement that Gasim will help the former president win the presidential election was a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

In a recent tweet, Gasim stated that Nasheed’s statement was intended to, “like always, mislead the public.”

During the inauguration of MDP’s “Sports Post” in Maafannu recently, former president Mohamed Nasheed said that Gasim Ibrahim will help MDP win the presidential election and that Gasim too, will be a reason for their future victory.

Nasheed made his statement soon after meeting with Gasim in the business tycoon’s residence, M. Maafannu Villa, last Thursday evening.
