The police have seized hard disks and several other items from six houses in Hithadhoo, Addu City, in a special operation.
Commander, South Division, Chief Inspector of Police Ahmed Shifan said that the six houses were checked under court warrants in relation to a case presently under investigation by the police.
He assured that the police acted in accordance with the law, when entering and checking the houses.
Shifan said that it was not possible to provide details at this stage, on the items seized by the police.
“We have seized material that could possibly give us information on the case we are investigating. This includes items such as hard disks. Details will be given to the media later,” he said.
Several incidents involving black magic and identity card fraud have surfaced in Hithadhoo following the first round of the presidential election.
