Naifaru MP Ahmed Mohamed has decided to go against the decision by the Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) to support Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), and instead, support presidential candidate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Abdulla Yameen in the second round of the presidential election.
Ahmed Mohamed, who is a member of DRP, said that he decided to support PPM to protect our religion and nation.
“I’m still a member of DRP. I decided to support PPM because I want to protect our religion and the Maldivian nation. I haven’t thought about changing party yet; for now, I have to think about protecting our religion and our nation,” he said.
