Panel for National Harmony (PNH) has called on all parties to refrain from actions that might lead to disruption of peace, in light of the second round of the presidential polls.
Instituted in May this year and comprising of a panel of public figures and experts, the Panel for National Harmony describes themselves as a panel of local citizens concerned about the division and disharmony as a result of the social, political and economic challenges in the country.
In a statement released today, the panel noted that first round of polls was smooth and peaceful, but said that recent trend in thoughts and actions in the society are worrying.
“However, we would like to note that in the days after the election, there have been worrying thoughts and actions [within the society]. Thus, we call upon all to refrain from any action that might disrupt the peace of the nation,” read statement by the Panel for National Harmony.
