Villa College signs agreement with German university

Villa College has signed an agreement regarding research with Germany’s Heilbronn University.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at Villa College today, by Rector of Villa College Dr Ahmed Anwar and Dean of Faculty of Tourism of Heilbronn University Professor Dr Christian Buer.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Anwar said that the agreement signed today was between the Institute for Applied Market Research of Heilbronn University and the Institute for Research and Innovation of Villa College.

He said that under this agreement, PhD programs will be introduced in Villa College.

He said that Maldivians do not have enough opportunities to go abroad for education, and that the aim of Villa College is to facilitate education opportunities for Maldivians from renowned European universities at affordable prices.

Dr Anwar said that as a result of Heilbronn University’s assistance, Maldivians will soon be able to complete degree programs in the field of hospitality management in the Maldives.

Student and staff exchange programs will be introduced, and assistance will be provided to research conducted by undergraduate, post graduate and PhD students under the agreement signed today.
