Police have forwarded the cases of former Director of Police Intelligence Department Sabra Noordeen and former Elections Commission member Ahmed Shahid to the Prosecutor General’s office requesting prosecution, accusing them of assaulting police officers in March this year.
Police revealed that Sabra Noordeen, 26, and Ahmed Shahid, 43, have been accused of assaulting police offices in the intersection of Neelofaru Hingun and Majeedhee Magu on the 5th of March 2013.
The cases were forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office on Wednesday, the 21st of August 2013.
The young former director of police intelligence Sabra Noordeen was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on March 17th in Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, soon after she arrived in the Maldives, travelling through Colombo.
Former EC member and husband of Galolhu-north MP Eva Abdulla, Ahmed Shahid was injured during the riots of February 8th, an incident that was also investigated by the Police Integrity Commission.
