Newly-appointed President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Dr Mohamed Latheef has requested President Dr Mohamed Waheed to settle the issue of Mohamed Fahmy Hassan, who has been dismissed from the CSC by the parliament.
Dr Latheef said in a letter to President Waheed that serious problems are being faced because Fahmy continues to attend work even after his dismissal.
“Former President of the Civil Service Commission, Mohamed Fahmy Hassan, who has been dismissed by the parliament, continues to officially attend the work of the commission. This issue remains unsettled, and it interferes with the management of this institution, causes problems for the entire civil service, and even affects the provision of public services,” reads the letter sent by Dr Latheef.
Dr Latheef highlighted that according to the constitution, it is the duty of the president to solve problems that arise between state institutions, and requested the president to find a speedy solution to the problem related to Fahmy Hassan.
Fahmy Hassan was dismissed from the post of president of CSC by the parliament after investigating allegations against Fahmy of sexual harassment of a female employee of the commission.
